- Developing new approaches to improve the translation of in disease modeling, and when the use of animals in biomedical research is required, at the same time improving well-being
- The role of experimental design in improving both animal well-being and scientific outcomes
- Induction of immune tolerance or immune recognition, and replacement of damaged cells, tissues, and organs
- Development of regenerative medicine approached in the treatment of diabetes and obesity
- Animal behavior, with a focus on primatology
