College Strengthens Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
The College of Veterinary Medicine has adopted a Diversity Plan as an extension of its 2016-2021 Strategic Plan. The plan was developed through extensive input and review by college faculty, staff, and students.
The plan reaffirms the college’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and directs the college community to make our work in this area more intentional and visible, thereby increasing our success and improving our organizational reputation. Specific goals and objectives include admitting a student cohort that reflects the diversity of our society, hiring and promoting faculty and staff that reflect the diversity of our society, and strengthening the college’s environment for diversity and inclusion. “Our college is becoming more diverse and more inclusive,” says Dr. Trevor Ames, dean of the college, “and having a road map for this work will accelerate our progress. It’s been gratifying to see how formation of this plan has engaged people from across the college.”
