Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences conducts investigations across the cutting-edge research areas of Host-Pathogen Interface Biology, Microbiome and Antibiotic Resistance, Chronic Disease Biology, and Genetics and Genomics. The Department also provides educational offerings and research opportunities in the basic biomedical sciences to undergraduate, professional, and graduate students.

Dr. Peter Larsen comes to VBS from the Department of Biology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. His expertise is in epigenetics, neurodegenerative disease, zoonotic disease, and surveillance bioinformatics. 
Dr. Roxanne Larsen comes to VBS from the School of Medicine at Duke in Durham, North Carolina. She will be teaching Anatomy and Physiology and her teaching expertise also includes Neuroanatomy, Radiological Anatomy, Embryology, Microanatomy/Histology, and Biomechanics.
