Proposed Dates

 June 12th to June 15th, 2022

Proposed Location

Minneapolis

Minneapolis is the perfect blend of natural beauty and urban sophistication. No other American city has a chain of lakes, the mighty Mississippi, and 200 miles of walking, biking and cross-country ski trails within the city limits –literally steps from a vibrant arts and music scene, the best shopping in the region, and museums among the finest in the nation. Minneapolis is the American city where natural and urban drama share a single stage.

Right now, Minneapolis is experiencing an extraordinary time in its history. A collection of major projects, known as the Minneapolis Big Build, are transforming Minneapolis, adding new facilities, new greenspace, and new public amenities that will continue enhancing the vibrancy of our city. With the redesign of our signature street, Nicollet, the new U.S. Bank Stadium and Commons Park, and a major renovation to Target Center, the heart of downtown will be bolder, greener and more inviting than ever. Renovations at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and Walker Art Center and the new Water Works Park on the riverfront will take our already world-class amenities and make them even better.

Minneapolis Convention Center

The convention center has a 3,400 fixed-seat auditorium, 475,000 square feet of exhibit space, up to 87 meeting rooms, a 28,000-square-foot ballroom and a 55,000-square-foot ballroom.  The space is flexible and can easily contain the programs we propose. Combining all these amenities needed with exceptional service from the most skilled staff, the Minneapolis Convention Center serves up made-to-order events. A blend of form and function, the Minneapolis Convention Center provides aesthetically-pleasing and innovative solutions for a variety of conventions and meetings.

It boasts a unique auditorium, superb production capabilities and flexible technology options. Extra features like The UPS Store, the Visitor Information Center and Dunn Bros. Coffee ease pressure for planners and attendees once on site. The UPS Store fulfills all types of document creation and duplication needs. The Visitor Information Center provides assistance to attendees with information about the city, public transportation, hotels, restaurants, attractions and more.

Swine Group at the University of Minnesota

The Swine Group at the University of Minnesota has a long tradition of excellence in research, teaching and outreach in the field of swine diseases. It has been the academic home of renowned swine veterinarians such as Dr. Al Leman, Dr. Carlos Pijoan, Dr. Bob Morrison and Dr. Han Soo Joo. The swine group is currently integrated by more than twelve professors who work exclusively on swine and who bring a wide range of expertise to the table. In addition to conducting cutting edge research in swine diseases, this energetic group has a long history of organizing the best scientific conferences. This is shown year after year by the success of the Leman Conference with 1,000 attendees, and more recently by the impressive 2017 Leman China conference, with 4,000 attendees.

The IPVS congress in Minneapolis will be organized by the Swine Group at the University of Minnesota in close collaboration with colleagues at the AASV, the Minnesota Pork Board and allied industries
