We are looking for cats with chronic diarrhea or constipation for a clinical food trial.

Eligible cats, briefly (contact us for full information):

Cats aged 1 year or older, and currently or previously having one or more of these symptoms may qualify for the trial.

Constipation symptoms:
  • Infrequently passes feces
  • Dry and/or firm stool consistency
  • Straining while defecating
  • Frequent attempts to evacuate bowels
Chronic diarrhea symptoms:
  • Frequently passes feces
  • Loose and/or wet fecal consistency
  • Straining while defecating
  • Defecating outside the litter box

Study Summary:

  • Screening and initial 4 days of using study diet with blood and stool collection
  • Study food is fed exclusively for entire 56 day trial
  • Recheck visits at Day 28 and 56 (final visit)
  • Owner collects their cat’s stool and drops off at clinic one time between each visit

Costs of the study:

The study pays for exams, blood and urine testing and a therapeutic diet. In addition, owners will be eligible for debit card payments after each visit.
