Dr. Henriksen is a native Dane. She received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from University of Copenhagen (Denmark) in 2005. She went from vet school out in a mixed animal practice for a year in Denmark where after she completed a two year internship in large animal internal medicine & surgery at University of Copenhagen, followed by a combined PhD in equine ophthalmology at University of Copenhagen/University of Florida (2008-2013), and residency in comparative ophthalmology at University of Florida (2009-2012). Dr. Henriksen joined the faculty at University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine in April 2013 and she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologist (ACVO) in 2014.
